Melissa’s Story

I'm a Canadian mom that was born and raised on the Manitoba Prairies. When I was 18, l became a mother for the first time and did everything in my power to give my daughter a life full of amazing memories, provide her with everything she needed and more. At 19 years old, I came across a direct sales company online that peaked my interest. I joined and was able to be a stay at home mom and still make an income. Within seven months I hit the top 4% of the company and received a 4-figure bonus for my achievement. I continued to receive residual monthly income from the work I had done for eight months.

When I decided to go back to school I no longer had time to continue with my direct sales business. I had enrolled in university when I was 20 to become a high school teacher. I was told from a young age that if you wanted a stable income and a good retirement you had to go to school and get a job with a good pension. I finished my arts degree in two and a half years while working full time as an online receptionist to pay for daycare, dance lessons for my daughter and save money to move out of my parents' basement.

During the last year of my degree, I got pregnant with my second daughter. I knew I did not want to have to put her in daycare like I did with my first daughter because I missed out on so many milestones while I was working an office job, attending classes and studying. The only option I was aware of to work from home was direct sales. I joined my previous company again and climbed to the top 2% this time. Shortly after, I found a second job working from home doing insurance claims. I ran with both of those jobs for three years until I was 25. In that time, I became a single mom, bought my house and continued to provide for myself and my two kids.

How I Became a Virtual Assistant & Started Coaching

In January of 2021, I came across a woman on TikTok who was a virtual assistant and was making 6-figures per year. I became intrigued and started to do some research and took a course shortly after. In September, I received the biggest blessing in disguise and got let go from my insurance job. I knew this was my moment to start taking my virtual assistant business seriously. I reserved my business name 30 minutes after I got let go of my job, took headshots and created content to start networking to find clients. I became booked out and started doing research to find a Canadian online virtual assistant coach and course but was unsuccessful. That's when I created the Hustle From Home course and coaching program to help more Canadians work from home.

Coaching and teaching has always come naturally to me. I was a dance teacher for five years in my teens, I went to University to be a teacher and, in a sense, I am now, just not a grade-school teacher. I have nine years of experience coaching women to work from home through direct sales. Now, I am proud to have a second option to be paid hourly for everyone who didn't want to do sales or marketing and be paid by commissions. This course is perfect for anyone who wants time freedom, to be able to work from anywhere with Wi-Fi, have control over their monthly income and be paid what they are worth.
